Local interior designer – Lance Colby Hatch – wins international design awards
Ft. Lauderdale, FL — Interior designer Lance Colby Hatch won three top residential design awards recently during Decorating Den Interiors 32nd annual Dream Room competition. Over 350 entries were judged by industry magazine editors in New York, NY this spring. Winning designs were announced at the annual Decorating Den Interiors Conference and Suppliers’ Market held in San Antonio.
Hatch received a first-place Patti Award for his contemporary family/great room in a renovated mid-century home in the Oakland Park neighborhood of Fort Lauderdale. “My entry offers a solution that creates a logical flow between several functional areas all within one great room. The room includes a kitchen, dining, living, and conversation areas. The design provides a neutral backdrop for my client’s fine art glass and photograph collections,” said Hatch.
Hatch’s room also won second place in the family room category for a separate People’s Choice competition that was conducted online and drew more than 30,000 votes during a three-week period. And, he won third place in a popular voting by hundreds of decorators and designers from within his company across the US and Canada.
As Hatch explains: “Now that I’m affiliated with North America’s largest company for custom interior designs and home furnishings, I’ve access to some 130-plus home furnishing suppliers offering my clients furniture, window treatments, accessories, lighting, floor and wall coverings, and closet systems. I bring samples directly to my client’s home providing complimentary design services and installation.”
